One of the biggest problems I see with new businesses today is that they put all their eggs in one basket — and that basket is usually social media.

I get it. It’s free to set up social media accounts, and it’s easy to interact with potential customers.

It’s important to utilize social media, but it can’t be the only strategy you use.

I see many new businesses focus on building their Instagram accounts. They focus purely on vanity metrics — followers, comments, and likes — but they aren’t actively collecting email addresses, and they don’t have a strong presence on any other platform.
